Cloth Donation Drive
Nearly 200 clothes were collected from the students and faculties of IIT Indore and donated to the needy at Sapera Colony, Rallamandal, Bhagoda village, by Avana volunteers. They were happy about receiving clothes. XpressLaundromat has helped us before the drive. Clothes, shoes, bags, bedsheets, and socks were collected for all the age groups.

Plantation Drive
Nearly 35 plants were planted alongside the Simrol Government School and classrooms’ boundaries, which include Gulmohar and Amla trees. Every class was given the responsibility of a few plants to take care of. Avana volunteers did all the work from digging the soil to the plantation in heavy rain

Around 40 plants were planted within the premises of the Kajligarh Simrol Girls Hostel. The nursery of IITI helped team Avana volunteers. Awareness was spread on environmental conservation

Swachhta Pakhwada
Competitions were organised under the government initiatives of ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ to encourage forest conservation, water conservation, and Swchhta, i.e., cleanliness. Slogan writing, Elocution, and essay writing competitions were conducted. Students actively participated, and winners were awarded prizes.

Hand Sanitizer Preparation as per WHO Guidelines
Team Avana, in association with the Catalysis group, prepared hand sanitizer as per WHO guidelines under the supervision of Sanjay K. Singh as a precautionary measure to fight COVID-19. Volunteers prepared a sample amount of 2.5 liters of sanitizer.

Old Age Home Visit
On the occasion of Diwali, a team of nearly 25 volunteers visited Jagannath Vridh Ashram, near Gangwal bus stand, Indore. The volunteers organized musical performances. Highlights of the day were tambola and Garba. Bedsheets, sweets, and gifts were also distributed. Avana always has a motive to spread happiness.
